Cheryl L. Weimer
Cheryl L. Weimer attended Valparaiso School of Law on an academic scholarship, and graduated cum laude in May, 2002. Ms. Weimer received first year academic honors, and was the honor recipient for estate planning, corporate and partnership tax, and other classes. While in law school, Cheryl participated in the Valparaiso Tax Clinic, assisting low income taxpayers with various tax issues, including preparing Offers in Compromise and attending hearings in tax court. Ms. Weimer also assisted with legal research for a brief filed with the Supreme Court in the matter of Zelman V. Simmons-Harris, involving the issue of school vouchers used at parochial schools.
Cheryl L. Weimer moved to LaGrange County in 1982 to accept a position with Farmers State Bank Trust Department, LaGrange, Indiana. Ms. Weimer graduated from West Noble High School in 1978. She received an associate degree as a paralegal in 1980 from the University of Indianapolis. Ms. Weimer worked in the trust and retail areas of banking until 1993. She received her Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, in Business administration in 1996 from Indiana Wesleyan University. Ms. Weimer has over twenty years of trust and estate experience and has worked in the trust and retail areas of the commercial banking industry.
While at Eberhard, Weimer & Glick, Ms. Weimer has had the opportunity to prepare multiple appellate briefs and has participated in oral argument before the Indiana Court of Appeals involving the issue of powers of appointment. Other published appellate decisions involved the constitutional question of the right to possess firearms.
At Eberhard, Weimer & Glick, P.C., Ms. Weimer currently devotes her time to the areas of estate planning, focusing especially on individuals, family farms and family businesses, estate administration and taxation, elder law, real estate, and business planning, Ms. Weimer is admitted to practice law in Indiana State Courts, the Northern and Southern District Federal Courts of Indiana, and in the Michigan State Courts.
Ms. Weimer is a current board member of World Gospel Mission, Marion, Indiana and is a member of Riley Professional Advisors Council of Riley Children’s Foundation, and past board member of the Angola Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Weimer provides pro bono legal services to LaGrange County Habitat for Humanity, Inc. and various churches and religious organizations.
